How clan cat names work
A clan cat's name has two parts. The prefix stays for life and comes from nature or the cat's looks: Fern, Ash, Sparrow, Thistle. The suffix changes with rank: -kit as a kitten, -paw as an apprentice, a descriptive suffix like -pelt or -heart as a warrior, and -star as leader. So Mosskit becomes Mosspaw, then Mossheart.
