How to use it
Let the name set the mood
The One-Eyed Gull and The Gilded Swan promise very different evenings. Pick the name first and the description writes itself.
Give the party a reason to come back
A house special, a regular with gossip or a landlord who owes someone money turns a tavern into a place the players remember.
Keep a few in your notes
Players always walk into the tavern you didn't plan. Copy a list before the session and hand them out as needed.
Start a story there
Press Start an adventure here and the tavern becomes the opening scene of a solo text adventure, with the AI narrator playing the locals.

How to name a fantasy tavern
Real inn names come from signs: before most people could read, a tavern hung a picture outside, and the name was whatever the picture showed. That's why the classic pattern is The + adjective + animal or object, like The Crooked Lantern or The Drunken Boar, or two objects joined, like The Kettle and Harp.
Match the name to the place. A dockside bar borrows from the sea, a dwarven hall from the forge, a fancy city tavern sounds polished, and a dive sounds a little dangerous. And give it one detail people talk about: the stew, the ghost in the cellar or the landlord's temper.
Questions
Is the tavern name generator free?
Yes. It's free with no account and no limit, because the names are put together in your browser rather than by an AI.
What kinds of taverns can it name?
Cozy village inns, seedy dives, upscale city taverns, dockside bars, roadside coaching inns and dwarven alehouses.
Can I use these names in my campaign or book?
Yes, use them however you like.
Can I get a whole shop or innkeeper too?
Yes. The D&D shop generator makes a tavern with an owner and a priced menu, and the NPC generator makes the regulars.
