How to use it
Search before you settle
Check streaming services and social handles to see if the name is taken.
Say it in a sentence
"Tonight, we're ___!" If it's awkward to announce, keep rolling.
Fictional bands
Writers and game masters can use these for a band in a story, a tavern bard troupe or a rival act.
Example band names
Indie and rock: The Distant Foxes, The Cosmic Choir, Honey Foxes, Neon Moth, The Electric Wolves, The Glass Oceans, Cosmic Parade, The Tin Satellites.
Metal: Obsidian Legion, Abyss Eclipse, Black Ritual, Blood Dominion, Blood Covenant, Funeral Harvest, Crypt Maw, Grave Monolith.
What makes a good band name
A band name has to work on a poster, in a search bar and shouted in a loud room. Two words is the sweet spot. Genres have habits: indie pairs a soft adjective with a plural (Paper Satellites), metal pairs something dark with something grand (Void Dominion), punk makes fun of something ordinary.
